The Julian Cole Precedent
Via The Daily Mail: "Selfridges' beauty director David Walker-Smith said: "Chanel will be on every beauty queen's lust list. Body art is a big trend for 2010 we predict a waiting list frenzy."
The thing is, Julian was doing this six months ago, something I've now dubbed "The Julian Cole Precedent".

Cheap Monday Clairvoyant
I was researching denim brands online where I happened upon this classy piece of work from Cheap Monday. Funny that it's for their optical collection, Clairvoyant. From what i can see they hooked up a few of their stockists with 3D glasses so users could experience the full effect. (Plus now I have another reason to go see Avatar).

Fashion: New Media Sticks It Up The Old Guard
"Rather, it was what the arrival of Ms. Gevinson, as a blogger, represented that ruffled feathers among the fashion elite. Anne Slowey, who has spent decades climbing the editorial ladder to a senior position at Elle, dismissed the teenager's column as "a bit gimmicky" in an interview with New York magazine. And in an instant, the subtext in her complaint was read by dozens of Ms. Gevinson's fans as an example of the tension between old media and new, when one leapfrogs ahead of the other."

Das Monk Talks “Season V”
When Marc Hendrick, the boy wonder half of local t-shirt label Das Monk, tweeted about his latest collection of tees dropping I cheekily put my hand up for one. Around four days later I go to clean out the post office box only to find a fresh as “Ogre” tee sticking out of it. Joy. So I jumped on the mails to thank him and thought it’d be a good a time as any to hit him up with a few questions about the new collection, "Season V".
So Marc ... why Das Monk?
Why Das Monk? Um, why not? If you're talking about the name then it's just two unrelated words I liked that seemed to go well together. But if you're getting all existential on me then I might have to move on to the next question before I over-think and my head implodes. Whyyy?
Can you tell me a little about the latest collection?
The latest collection was inspired by Stanley Kubrick's work, especially films like "Dr Strangelove" and "A Clockwork Orange". They're kind of dark, kind of surreal, but strangely amusing... And that was the driving theme behind the range. I was lucky enough to work with some amazing artists such as Tim Laing (UK), Evan Meister (US), Lydia Ortiz (US), and Daniel Brereton (UK) for the collection.
